These have been completely bullet proof for me. I have used them for a while now and I have not been easy on them, putting more stress on than usual. They stay straight and have not snapped or deformed at all. Excellent quality!

Used to remove the stripper clip from my M1A. The tip deformed the first time I used it. Purchased as part of the 7 piece set. Hope the rest of the punches are more durable than the 3/32"

This is a good set of roll pin punches in the most common sizes.

Other reviewers complained of the smallest punch bending. Any small diameter punch will bend if it's misused. A little advice, don't use a 16-ounce claw hammer or a roofing hammer to work on a gun! Don't use mechanic's screwdrivers or any of the other dumb things I've seen "youtube gunsmiths" use. Use the right tool for the job. And, sometimes a pin is stubborn and its possible to bend a punch even when you are being careful. So, be careful!



Bottom line, all of the Grace tools I have are quality tools. Quality tools aren't cheap.

Get these,their not in stock because everybody wants them. Get them wherever you can,you won't be sorry.

When removing a 1/16 roll pin, use a starter punch to start the pin far enough into the hole so the normal roll pin punch is supported by the sides of the hole. If you use the 1/16 punch (or other small diameter punches) as a starter on a tight pin, it may bend and break.

Other than that, the back-taper is good for preventing binding until you are way up the shank. The rounded point mated firmly with the roll pin. I look forward to using this set as needed, with awareness that really thin, unsupported punches WILL bend.

Buy them you will not regret. These are quility tools and the right tools for the job. I bent my 1/6 (my fault) and emailed Grace, they emailed me back the next day and sent one out. There was also a personal note from the President. You can not beat that customer service, or the quality of thier products. I have many Grace products and never think twice about purchasing.

When I recieved these punches I was quite happy with the apparent quality but unfortunatly bent the 1/16 roll pin punch on its very first use. I was driving a roll pin out of a pistol sight which was firmly held in a vise and was not driving the punch at an angle, so I was very suprised to have it bend.

Upon investigation, I found that the 1/16 punch measures 1.42mm at the tip but the shaft tapers down to 1.06mm toward the shank. Naturally, this narrower section is where the pin bent. Similarly, the 5/64 pin is 1.84mm at the tip, but 1.62mm at its narrowest diameter. All pins seem to exhibit this similar narrowing toward the shank. It is less of a concern on the larger pins as they are unlikely to be bent when driving in a roll pin but disappointing that such a large amount of runnout exists on the narrow punch pins, as they require the maximum amount of material possible to maintain strength. It is normal for the diameter of punch pins to narrow slightly along their length to prevent them from binding in a hole as a pin is driven out, but not by the amount that I have measured on the 1/16 punch.

On the up side, I am much happier to have punch pins made of softer steel like these punches are, as they will bend rather than shear off. It can be a real pain removing a sheared off punch pin.

I am still giving these roll pin punches 4/5 stars as I was able to correct the bent pin to almost be true again (although I am certain that a great deal of its integrity has been forfited by doing so) and will still get plenty of use out of the larger sizes. If using the 1/16 or 5/64 punch, just be careful.

Bought this for my AR gas block roll pin. Worked like a charm, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it's so thin that I was afraid I was going to bend it while hammering.

I bought the three major punches for an AR lower build. Found this one to be specifically necessary to remove the ejector pin from the bolt. I saw a few people bought similar punches and beat the living hell out of them and then complained the broke. Here's a small tip. Buy a smaller hammer and gentle taps to remove or add your pins. These aren't the lower control arms on your Dad's 57 Chevrolet.

I bought the three punches for an AR lower build (1/16, 1/8, & 3/32). They worked great and seemed to hold up well. After reading about people pounding the hell out of their punches and breaking them I bought the smaller hammer and used light taps to install and remove the pins. They worked just fine. Good tool to have in the box. No jumping around as they hold the center of the pin well. Can't buy them locally...I tried. In three days I got them in the mail and built the lower that night. No scratches, gouges or broken lowers.

These punches are great for roll pins as well as using them for solid pins that fit in the hole. I've greatly reduced the number of minor blems when using these tools.

These are high quality tools which are essential for your AR build up. Don't skimp and buy cheaply made stuff, get the real deal that will make your AR build a snap!

I bought these to perform home gunsmithing projects like adding acessories to my AR. I just changed out my trigger guard using these and the roll pin punches from Brownells. AWESOME! A must for cleanly getting those roll pins in or out! I also used these to change out the trigger and hammer pins and install KNS Precision anti-walk pins. No sweat! Feel good buying these. They are nice investment; heavy and will last you forever!

I have tried many brands of punches with poor results. These punches are made by GRACE USA and are top of the line in quality. I had just broken a 5/64 in. punch and needed a replacement. The new punch removed the stubborn roll pin afer a couple of good hits. When I saw that these punches were made in the USA by GRACE I bought the 7 pc. set. Good tools.

I bought an AR15 lower 8 months ago because it was on sale. I also purchased a parts kit and used generic tools to assemble it, but never got the roll pins to seat the way I wanted. I purchased these punches, and I was finally able to get the roll pins positioned perfectly. Please avoid my frustration, and purchase these if you are assembling an AR15.

Great set of punches, used them on smaller roll pins and even useful once you break the grip on taper pins.

There is something to be said for having the right tool for the job. This set is well-made, smoothly finished, and sturdy.

I use it to work on my personal pistols and it's truly a time-saver.

Also like the accompanied plastic pouch that keeps the entire set together.

Use several of the sizes every time I tear down an AR15. The 3/32 punch is easy to grind a flat onto for those AR15 bolt catch roll pins. Save yourself a $12.00 specialty part!
