Improved variation of the original G.I. tool turns a three- handed job into a quick, easy- to-perform operation. Two-position handle provides extra leverage to cam the bolt forward and retain the entire bolt while depressing the ejector. Extractor lifts out and drops in easily while other parts stay put.

Your 3rd hand!(17.11.2009)
Many years ago I had the G.I. version of this tool. It was a God's send to take down a Garand bolt. Long after my gun smith days I got back into Garand collecting. The only thing I couldn't take down without the chance of loosing a part was the bolt. This tool makes it simple. Very easy to use. I would like to see one improvement. When the bolt is pressed forward thge back of the blot can ride up the handle and try to pop out. You have to keep a good grip on the handle to prevent this. I small notch in the handle would catch the back of the bolt and help hold it in place. Other than that .. it's a keeper.
Great Tool at a Great Price(23.6.2010)
This is an easy to use tool at a great price. Makes Bolt work a breeze. Working on a Bolt, BUY IT
Simple but effective(21.1.2011)
This tool work great. No more flying parts or busted finger nails. A real thumbs up.
Does not work, bolt pops out of place!(4.9.2011)
Very difficult to use, bolt will not stay in place, terrible to adjustment. Not recommended!
MUST HAVE FOR A M1A/M14!!!(11.9.2011)
This is a must have if you own a M1A/M14 variant rifle! I tried disassembling the bolt without the tool one time, and only one time. I ended hunting around for the extractor spring that supermaned it outta the bolt and to god only knows where, yeah I didn't find it. This tool is to easy to operate. Just lay the bolt belly down, put pressure on the lever, and everything will come apart that easy! I don't know what the guy that rated it with 1 Star was talking about, probably didn't read the instruction or know how to use it???
Very good product!(26.9.2011)
Within 5 minutes of opening the package, I had the bolt disassembled without launching the ejector and spring into the next room! As others have said it's the third hand needed to do this job. I'm very glad I purchased this tool instead of modifying my head space tools with a notch to clear the ejector. Looks to be well made. Time will tell. A big thumbs up!
Very good product!(27.9.2011)
Within 5 minutes after removing the tool from the package I had the bolt completely dissembled without launching the ejector and spring into the next room. It is the third hand that others have mentioned that you need to make taking the bolt apart easy. Looks to be well made. time will tell. If you plan on working on an M1 bolt, you need this tool! Highly recommended!
waste of money in my opinion(12.10.2012)
nothing lines up!! does not work as advertised. ejector pin does not line up with 4-40 cap screw on reassembly, extractor pin punch did not line up to dissasemble extractor why so much play of bolt in fixture
Not thrilled(16.4.2013)
The plunger pin shattered the first time I used it, scattering parts across the room. Fortunately a pin punch fit the hole so I could continue to work, Also, my M1A bolt was a VERY sloppy fit in the tool, causing all kinds of trouble upon reassembly. Dicey instructions that really need to make mention of the need to carefully adjust the small allen screw to your particular bolt. Not happy at all.
Works with some tinkering(21.4.2013)
I purchased this tool because I was having problems getting the Ejector plunger spring assy back in the bolt. I needed extra hands! What I ended up doing was: I used the tool to compress the extractor and get it and the firing pin lined up for the ejector pin to be installed. I inserted a pin punch to hold it. I used a plastic strap tie around the bolt and tool to ensure the bolt didn't rise off the tool. Then I used a C clamp from the front of the tool to the back of the bolt, and tightened it just a bit allowing for free movement of the ejector pin assy in and out. Now I have two free hands to install the ejector pin while compressing the plunger spring assy. Snapped right in. It's not perfect, but I couldn't have got by without it.
BROWNELLS M1 BOLT DISASSEMBLY TOOL.(28.3.2014)
I'm very grateful for the tool and the video on how to use it. A child could disassemble and reassemble a M1 bolt with this tool & video. I disassembled, cleaned and oiled 9 M1 bolts the first time. Without the tool I would have quit after the first one. I am not very mechanical and would have needed at least two more hands without the tool.
Takes time, patience, and practice(7.12.2016)
I'm mechanically inclined and this tool was really difficult to use the first time. The second time using it, the tool became slightly easier to use. I hope as time progresses, it will be easier to use( by the time I dissemble the bolt the next time)....but I doubt it.
Only reason why I haven't returned it is because I'm from Canada.
Great design though, and hoping I get better with it.
M1 Great/ M14 not so much(8.1.2017)
M1 just like the video no issues, as for the M14 does not fit, have to place a peace of material under bolt and behind the lever, plus align everything, it can be done just be patient. good luck
M1/M1A bolt disassembly tool(17.2.2017)
Learned about this tool at the CMP M1 advanced maintenance class, just had to get one. Disassembly/reassembly simple with this tool. Must have if you shoot a M1 or M1A much.
