Forged from ordnance steel to strict, national match specs; rifled by a proprietary technique that holds lands and grooves to exceptionally close tolerances and leaves the surface finish mirror smooth. Air gauged to maintain .0002" tolerance through the bore. Feed ramps are throated for wadcutter ammo. Standard Barrel - Non-ramped, oversize hood, top and bottom lugs to achieve an exact fit for optimum match accuracy. Ramped Barrel - Fully supports the case head; gives direct feeding from magazine to chamber. Requires machining of frame. Gunsmithing fitting required. Std - Standard barrel, non-ramped. W/N - Wilson/Nowlin Ramp. C/P - Clark/Para Ordnance Ramp

Excellent Gunsmith Fit Barrel (9.3.2017)

This is a really nice gunsmith fit barrel. It is oversized in all the right areas (hood width/length and lower lugs). Geometry was spot on and while it required removing material from the hood and lugs, it wasn't excessive. Link pin hole required a light pass with a reamer to get a good fit with a .154" pin. Once everything was fit, the chamber only required a few turns with a finish reamer to complete the installation.

Excellent barrel (28.8.2009)

Followed the KART instructions for installation and was very happy with the accuracy obtained. The instructions assume some familiarity with the 1911 cycle and parts interaction so a first timer will find the process difficult. It is steel so be sure and keep it oiled after filing. I purchased the 9mm in standard ramp but would recommend buying one of the ramped barrels as you may find it very difficult to get the 9mm to feed well on the standard ramp.

I have replaced barrels in six 1911s using the Kart 45ACP standard. Each solved a previous long standing problem. Every one has worked perfectly. After thousands of rounds through each barrel, they have never had any feed problems and they have retained their accuracy. Anyone can easily do a perfect barrel replacement by following Kart's simple clear instructions.

Great Single Part Investment (20.3.2010)

Easy to install though did require some fitting as per the directions. Superb improvement highly recomemnded fit my Springfeild GI SS well in about 45mins. Totally improved the accuracy as promised and just improved overall preformance.

None Better (1.1.2012)

This barrel is a standard on the bullseye line. It requires gunsmith fitting. If you look down the bore you won't see any machine marks which adds to the accuracy.

The Best for your money (6.2.2012)

Best barrel for wadcutter for the money,, never been dis satisfied with final accuracy, all under a 2" group at 50 yards,, and I have installed a bunch of them. Not the greatest for hardball, but a great wadcutter barrel

The best 1911 barrel hands down (8.1.2017)

Accept no substitutes, Kart barrels are the best hands down. Ask any of the top 1911 smiths and they will agree. Fred uses a proprietary honing process not even his wife knows. His barrels have the best bores you'll ever see. Oversized in the right spots for gunsmith fit.
