AUTO ADJUSTABLE BUTT PLATE

Three-way adjustments for perfect gun fit, higher scores and improved shooting comfort. Base plate mounts to gun, your pad mounts to pad plate and the threaded tube provides a total of 1-1/8" in/out adjustment. Make full turns or stop the rotation anywhere in 360° and lock with the socket head set screws. Slotted top plate allows 1½" vertical adjustment. Slide a Breako Recoil Reducer into the tube for a neat, compact installation. Combine with Graco's Adjustable Comb Hardware to make your own "Try Stock".

SPECS: Matte finished aluminum. 5-13/16" (14.7cm) long x 2" (5cm) wide x 9/16" (14.3mm) thick (adjusted fully "in"). Base plate attaching holes are 3¼" (82.5mm) center-to-center. Auto Model for Remington 1100, 11-87, Beretta 302/303 etc., positions tube ½" (12.7mm) closer to top attaching hole to clear action spring tubes. Requires drilling 1-1/8" (28.6mm) hole in stock.

Priced well, Works as Advertised (24.7.2009)

This item was priced right, very easy to adjust and set. Well made. Keep in mind this is not for a beginner to install. Had to cut 1" off stock to get the fit for smaller framed people (women/children). Drill larger hole down into stock. And grind to fit the stock, grind to fit the buttpad. Looks nice when done, and there would be nothing to go wrong afterwords.

EriktheRed is right. This thing is not easy to install. Both aluminum plates are over-sized, and must be ground to fit (the wood side and the pad side). The grinding includes compound angles to make it look right. Once installed, it looks and works great. If you cut a lot off the stock (as I did on my wife's 1100), you'll want to cut perpendicular to the action spring tube, not parallel to the original butt. This will allow the adjustment sleeve to cleanly slide over the action spring tube nut inside. If you cut the stock parallel to the original butt angle, it may bind inside as you screw the butt pad forward.

Good plate (29.5.2012)

Good plate that is made heavy enough to work on magnum rifles or shotguns with heavy loads. Easy to add a mercury recoil reducer, but I recommend you buy the drilling jig.

Easy if you have the tools (16.7.2012)

Used 80" band say to rough down the shape and then a combo sander to finish it out. Polished w/ bench grinder and cloth wheels and compound. Fitted to Beretta AL391. Needed to sand out inside of stock for LOP screw but was fast and easy w/ Dremel and drum sander bit. Looking at the Beretta, the non-auto 575S would pbly fit as well since there is a lot of space between end of stock and stock nut. This would give you 1/2" more butt pad drop if needed.
